Leadership Thought – Amplification

We recently came across an interesting article from the New Yorker covering a tactic used by none other than the female staffers in Obama’s Administration. The reality of the work place is that a woman’s voice is often marginalized to the point of having no say. To combat this, female staffers got together and when any one of them made a key point, other women would repeat it while giving credit to its author. This forced the men in the room to recognize the contribution – and denied them the chance to claim the idea as their own. Have you heard or seen amplification in practice?
